You may have heard about a product called Cerec, but do you know what it is or how it can help you? Cerec is a dental restoration product that helps dentists produce near perfect ceramic dental restoration using the latest technology including 3D photography and CAD/CAM.

Development on the Cerec method started in 1980 at the University of Zurich. By 2002, there were more than 2,500 Cerec users in the United States. The way it works is by 3D cameras, a picture of your mouth is taken and your ceramic implants are carved to perfectly fit them.

Some of the advantages of the Cerec system include the proceedure being less invasive than other crown proceedures and the repair tends to last longer. Another advantage is that usually you only need to go in for one visit instead of many of them. A disadvantage for the system includes time consuming proceedures like powdering the teeth.
