No, we are not referring to crash diets for weight loss. We are talking about the diet habits that can help keep you teeth healthy. Food, you know, has a definite connection with dental health. If teeth and mouth are left unclean after eating, they invite bacteria which in turn cause several dental problems.

Here are some diet tips to enhance the health of you teeth:

  • If you have a sweet tooth, try to eat sweets only at meal times. Snacking on sweets between meals is a sin when dental care is concerned.

  • Shun the fruit juice and go for the fruit instead. The fruit is not only much less damaging but also extremely beneficial by providing the necessary fiber needed for cleansing the mouth.
  • Bite into a carrot or an apple. These are cleansing foods which help keep your teeth clean.
  • Eat foods that have calcium, fluoride, and vitamins.
  • Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese in your everyday diet.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks. If you take an odd sip or two at times, use a straw to do that.
  • Eat a cube of cheese after you finish a meal. This fights the acids produced from the meal you just consumed.

Find out from your dentist if you need to pay any special attention to your diet.

Happy smiling!
